Hello Supriya,

  1. Kony setup on remote VM machine : We are going to use VDI on windows machine to build Kony App? We need support for both Android and iOS.                                                                                                                         We can install and use the Kony Studio on VM Machine and we can access the Kony Studio through VDI in Windows machines.
  2. How would the Executable IPA of iOS get build on Windows? We need a mac system right? Shall we ask client to have a mac system as VM for kony IDE and Buils to work ?                                                                                  To generate the IPA we need a MAC and latest Xcode. In Kony studio, we have an option where we can configure the MAC details and we can directly generate the IPA from Studio.
  3. How would be debug on devices in VDI env ? it’s not possible ?then how to use Kony cloud devices ?does client need to create any private cloud on Kony? What’s the procedure ?                                                                          In VDI environment, we can not debug the devices. In case of Android our device should connect with actual VM machine and in case of iOS we need to use MAC only.

Thanks

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply.

However , we have the IPA creating option only on KOny Studio and not with the vizulizer 7.0+?

for point 3. above : Do we have any reference URL or steps to be followed to achieve the same.

Thanks and Regards

Hello Supriya,

If you are using Kony Visualizer Enterprise then you have an option to generate the IPA. If you are using Kony Visualizer Starter then there is no provision to generate the IPA. Please check the below link for more details.   http://docs.kony.com/konylibrary/visualizer/visualizer_user_guide/Default.htm#iOS_Automatic_Output_Generation.htm?Highlight=IPA

For application debugging, please check the below link http://docs.kony.com/konylibrary/visualizer/visualizer_user_guide/Default.htm#Inline_Debugger.htm%3FTocPath%3DDebugging%2520an%2520Application%7C_____0

Thanks

We are trying to execute the follwing steps , however step 4 does not execute and whenever we conenct the Android device the kony studio says no connected devices found  try reconnecting the device.

1.  Connect mobile device via USB.
  2.  Enable 'developer options' on Android device.
  3.  Enable USB debugging.
  4.  If all goes well, you get get a prompt with a digital fingerprint message to trust the device.
  5.  Start a command prompt and enter 'adb devices' to get a list of devices.
  6.  If no devices are shown -
     *   Try updating mobile driver to Google's Android Composite driver.

We tried all tehse steps but the Android device itself does not get listed on VDi cmd under ADB devices abd also not seen in VDI device manager.

Please elaborate on the following:

How would be debug on devices in VDI env ? it’s not possible ?then how to use Kony cloud devices ?does client need to create any private cloud on Kony? What’s the procedure ?                                                                          In VDI environment, we can not debug the devices.
