Unable to build app on iOS simulator

Question asked by Kyle Schwarzkopf on Jun 06, 2017 14:21 EDT

I keep getting the errors:  functional preview build failed: Unexpected identifier App preview build generation failed. Please check more details in the Error log. Unhandled event loop exception   I get these errors when I try to run my project on the iOS simulator.   I'll attach the log. Any help would be helpful in debugging this to get it working.

Hi Kyle,

From the screenshot, we assume that your application has FFi code integration.

With the functional preview, you can view the front-end prototype of a project on a device and run any action attached to a form, pop-up, or widget such as navigating from one form to other, applying a skin to a widget, and opening a pop-up window. You can not invoke/test FFI functionalities in App Preview.

You need to build and run the application on device to check FFI functionalities.

Kindly help us with more details incase the above does not suffice.

Thanks.

Madhuri Choutkur, that is not quite the issue. The app will not build for the simulator or on a native device. I wish I had more details, but that log is the Kony IDE gave me, which is very disconcerning to me. This has me completely blocked on the work I need to do.

Hi Kyle,

Kindly open the console tab in your IDE and click on the downward arrow in the top right corner. (check screenshot).

Then click on Open log file. Send us this file as a text.We will check it further with that.

Thank you
