Native Function API for Android and Kony Video Widget

Question asked by Paul Marconi on Apr 10, 2017 07:36 EDT

I am using the Kony video widget in my app. We are seeing the media controls behave differently across different android devices. When the video is loaded (onPrepared is fired) we would like to play the video without displaying the media controls. This is how the widget beaves on Samsung Galaxy S6 devices but on other devices, the controls display, covering the video until the user clicks elsewhere on the video widget. We have considered using Native Function API to automatically hide the controls if they are displayed but we do not know how to get a reference to the video widget from within the Kony Javascript. Is this possible? If not then is there any other way to achieve this common behaviour across Android devices?

Hi Paul,

If your query is to display video controls or not then please check with "controls" property available for video widget. But this accessible only from IDE.

http://docs.kony.com/konylibrary/visualizer/viz_widget_prog_guide/Default.htm#Video_Basic_Properties.htm#controls%3FTocPath%3DReference%7CVideo%2520Widget%7CProperties%7C_____10

Let us know otherwise.

Thanks,

Madhuri C.

Hi Madhuri, I need to be able to access this at runtime. I guess I cannot.

Thanks,

Paul
