Build Fail with Barcode Scanner custom widget and Map widget in the same application for Android.

Question asked by sourav.nayak sourav.nayak on Jun 15, 2017 09:03 EDT

We have an application which is using Barcode scanner custom widget. When I build the application without a map widget, the build is successful for Android, but when I use a map widget along with it in the application, the build fails with below error \\build\\intermediates\\manifests\\full\\debug\\AndroidManifest.xml:72: error: Error: No resource found that matches the given name (at value with value @integer/google_play_services_version). Any solutions for above issue.

Hi Sourav,

Thank you for contacting Kony.

The reported build issue is due to the latest Google Play Services, if your Android Setup SDK Manager has installed the latest Google Play services (version 26 and above) then you will get such issue.

Could you please confirm, does your application depend upon the Google play services or in your application are you using location API's.

Kony Location API's are available in two flavor's. One is based on Core Android Location API's (default) and another is based on Google Play Services and the developer is provided with an option to choose between these two using IDE app level property window. Since Location API's are changed/removed in latest of Google Play services, We are planning to support the latest Location API's out of Google Play services in future releases.

To make the build success, replace your Google play service with the older version. I have attached the older version of the Google play service for your reference. Take the backup of the latest Google play services and replace with our given file. Make sure that folder name should be same as the replaced one.

Please find the attached google play services and files for your reference. Kindly check and let us know if you need any further support.

Thank You,
Sirisha Munala
