Hi, we want to evaluate Kony Studio, but we are behind company proxy. We are get cannot connect to api.kony server, when after entering our trial user name and password. I was able to start it via direct connection, but this type of connection is strictly prohibited by the company. Questions: 1) Does Kony...
Kony Studio is built on eclipse and you can change the proxy settings similarly to how you would change them in eclipse. goto on a mac, goto Kony Studio -> Preferences -> Network and you will see the proxy settings there. I've attached a screenshot of the menu you are looking for. If you look in properties, you will not find these settings, you need to look in Preferences. I am also attaching a link to the eclipse website that describes setting your proxy.
This works once you are in eclipse of course, but the eclipse.ini setting should work. Are you using a socks proxy or other type of proxy?
I have two tabs created as a part of Tab Pane Widget. I have created google maps component and placed each on the separate tab (See in attachment tab1.png and tab2.png). When I run application two google maps are overlapping as you can see in attached image named runtime.png. How to resolve this...
As per Kony coding guidelines, it is recommended that we should not be using more than one map widget. If the requirement is such that we need to display different data for different use cases, we need to have some kind of event (button for example) to provide new data to the same map widget.
We should have one map widget which should be used with different data sets as and when needed, instead of creating multiple map widgets.
In Visualizer, when you set a widget's visible to off, the widget disappears. Ok, that is fine, but in my app I want a button to make it visible so I have to start off invisible. the problem is that I can't work on my UI around it because I...
Sorry for delay in response.
You should use webservices to use. Kony has provided some of their EMM features as Services, which enables developers to intelligently use EMM to take the security measures required at a granular level. The below guide helps you regarding some of the features of EMM as services.
I designed an appliation in Visualizer. I have setup an OnClick action in form 1 to navigate to form 2. This works fine when I test it after publishing from Visualizer and check in my device. But when I import this in Kony studio and build it and try to run...
Thanks for reporting the error, we're looking into this still and I'll provide an update as soon as possible.
Hi everyone, In the Visualizer, I want to create a form that renders differently according to a condition. Imagine this scenario: I have 4 pages (aka. forms): page A, B, C and F. Pages A, B and C have a link to page F. Page F has a list with some flags. Now, depending...
You can set the visibility property of a widget from the action tab under the properties panel. For your scenario, on Form F, I would create the sections that need to be dynamically shown inside a container widget and then show/hide the widgets based on the onClick actions of the links on forms A/B/C. Please see the attached screenshot for an example of the action editor with these types of actions.
Please check the attached architecture diagram and it will make things clear to you.
The Java script instructions are translated at runtime by the Kony SDK. Kony SDK is not a service and does not run all the time in background. It runs only when the application is active. Kony SDK basically converts all these Java Script instructions to native APIs/instructions at runtime.
Hi everyone, Imagine I want to create a Directory application. The employee data will be stored in an "Employee" entity, I also want to store the CVs of the employees, etc. How can I store this data in a database? Can I model this part of the logic with the Kony Development Cloud?...
Where is all this data currently stored? In a DB? If all this data is already available in a DB, you might want to use Kony's Java Connector to connect to the DB to fetch and post the data.
Hi everyone, I know that with the Visualizer you can publish apps to the Kony Server to be seen with the App Preview. But can you create the fully working app, that you would then publish to the App Store or the web app that you would access via http://yourcompany.com ? Or...
When an app is published to the Kony Visualization Cloud, it is stored in a format that can be read by the App Preview app on your device, or as an HTML5 web app, depending on what you choose to publish. To publish the production application, you would import it into the Kony Studio environment (which is also an Eclipse based product), and publish to your dev cloud, or generate the local binaries for packaging and submitting to the respective app stores. At this time, we do not support exporting to a third party IDE, but are looking at the possibility of doing so.

Hi everyone, With the Visualizer you can create apps' interfaces. I'm wondering how is the interaction of a user with an app coming straight from the Visualizer. Imagine that in the Visualizer I have a list of items with a checkbox... If I publish this app and share it, will users be...
1. The user can interact with the Kony widgets the same as they would with an app generated from the Kony Studio. These are the same exact widgets that are generated. However, conditional logic is not available at this time, and will be coming in a future release of the action editor.
2. Yes the user can fill a form out, but it is currently not being stored anywhere. We plan to support some of the items that are available in the underlying platforms, including local data storage, in a future release.
3. At this time, you would have to populate the master data in a segment widget. In a future release, we will be adding the capability to populate a segment widget (or any other widget) with data from a data source, but in a more designer-friendly way. To hook the widget up to a data store, use the Kony Studio to complete the development activities.
